On February 4th 2017 we held our annual Refuge for Wildlife fundraiser at Harbor Reef in Nosara, Costa Rica. We were thrilled by the turnout from our supportive community here in Nosara and also the many people who joined us from Tamarindo, Marbella and Samara.
Each year, Refuge for Wildlife holds this event to raise much needed funds required to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned wildlife. This year we decided to celebrate Costa Rica with wonderful live folkloric music and incredible local food provided by the exceptional chefs at Harbor Reef.
Each entry fee also included a raffle ticket for exciting prizes including a 32″ TV, 2 nights at Capitán Suizo Hotel in Tamarindo, a day pass for two with dinner included at Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort, massages, beautiful hand-crafted wooden decor, and a ride to school in the Bomberos truck!
Our founder, Brenda Bombard and her new assistant director, Adriana Alfaro did a wonderful presentation about the work we do, 2016 statistics, operating costs, information about Stop the Shocks and Wildlife Crossings, our accomplishments in 2016, and our plans for 2017 including an expansion of our nursery and clinic. The presentation also included an excellent video which features the animals we have rescued as well as informative details about Refuge for Wildlife.
